Sunshine typically has openings twice a year when students graduate on to elementary schools in June and September, although occasionally we do have mid year openings. The first step to enrollment is touring and submitting an application. We accept applications year-round; all applications we receive are automatically added to our waiting pool. Wait pool time varies as program admission depends on a variety of criteria including desired schedule, age, gender, and spot availability. These criteria are important in keeping a balanced Montessori learning environments.
Each year, the official admissions process at Sunshine begins in January and continues until May. Once we have determined the number of new openings for the coming school year in each classroom we will contact applicable families and arrange for a Child Visit. During the Child Visit our teaching staff has the opportunity to observe and interact with the child in the classroom. Our Director will also meet with parents at this time to discuss their child. Applicants who have been invited for a Child Visit will then be notified of enrollment status.
Families admitted to Sunshine Montessori are expected to uphold the school’s mission and work together with the community to support their child’s Montessori education.
